SVETLANA TODINOVA
INSTRUCTOR
Born in Yadrun, Russia, just outside Moscow, Svetlana Todinova trained at the Ufimsky Choreography School, whose famous graduates include Rudolf Nureyev for whom the school has now been renamed to the Rudolf Nureyev Russian State Ballet Academy. Upon graduation, Ms. Todinova was invited to join the Krasnodarsky Musical Theater of the Bashkiria Theater where she had the honor to dance for the company’s famous collaborator, former Bolshoi Director Yuri Grigorovich. She later joined Russia’s renowned National Academy of Theatrical Arts, or “GITIS”, in Moscow, touring internationally with them. Ms. Todinova was invited to join the Crown of Russia Ballet Company as a soloist, again touring internationally. Her repertory included Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadere, Carmen, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and many more. She has also danced with the Moscow Ballet and is their Audition Director, visiting nearly 20 American cities between the months of September and November where she auditions and trains hundreds of young aspiring dancers to perform in Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker. Ms. Todinova also leads Moscow Ballet’s Summer Intensives for preprofessional students.
